Sheriff Curtis Hill

Welcome to the California State Sheriff’s Association website.  This website will assist you in accessing the membership of the association and providing important information relative to public safety in California.

The association was founded in 1894 in order to improve and provide effective service and protection to all citizens of California.  By joining together, the 58 Sheriff’s have worked to assist each other in fulfilling their duties and obligations to the people of this great state as chief law enforcement officers of their respective counties.

I am honored to be President of this organization for 2010 and promise to commit all of my energies to represent this association and its members during these challenging times.  The potential release of thousands of inmates from the state prison system, the budget crisis, the decriminalization of marijuana, and pension reform are just some of the issues to be addressed this year.  I am proud to lead CSSA to effectively speak for protecting core public safety services to Californians.

As individual sheriffs and collectively through CSSA, California Sheriff’s are committed to working with the Legislature and Governor to manage the budget crisis we are facing.

Each Sheriff actively works toward ensuring for the public safety of their communities.  We look forward to working with you in meeting the challenges facing California.

Curtis J. Hill, President

San Benito County Sheriff
